In Bruges Trailer

This is the trailer for In Bruges, this film is a british film that fits into the criteria which I have to follow to produce my trailer. As a consequence I have decided that this would be a good example to look at as I cab gain good ideas from this and later use them in my product. The film is a an action/comedy genre, this is similar to the genre which I am basing my film around, therefore the key features out of this example can influence my product.

The trailer shows typical codes and conventions of an action/gangster style of film, these features can be picked out of the trailer and looked at to help me decide what I need to include in my trailer to make it suitable in the same sort of genre:

> Costumes - The costumes which the characters wear are mostly suits, these are a typical convention of the genre, the suits show professionalism and they also connote wealth and power. If someone wears a suit you are most likely to get the impression that they care about their appearance.

> Props - The props which are used in the film are largely related to the genre of the film, this is because it is an action film and therefore weapons such as guns are used throughout, a gun carries the connotation of violence. Violence is something which you expect from within a "gangster" genre of film.
The other props which are things which express where the characters is at and where the filming is taking place, landmarks are used in the scenes to show that they are in Belgium.

> Editing - The editing which is used is fast passed in a lot of the scenes this has been done so that the suspense is created for the audience, another typical feature of an action film. The meaning behind this is so that the audience are excited by the trailer and the scenes builds up with anticipation.

> Narrative - The narrative for the trailer includes a lot of action, this is language which excites the audience and makes them aware of the genre of the film, action language is most likely to attract a male audience as this is what appeals to them the most.
