Audience Research - Secondary Research

This is data that I have aquired from the website www.pearlanddean.com , it is a source of secondary research and helps me to see what sort of audience the film is aimed towards, this is useful information to me because it will help me when I come to creating my film that is of a similar genre.
The data shows the percentage of which gender are consumers of this film, male 66% and female 34% this is due to the genre of the film, as I am aiming to produce a trailer which is of the same genre then I can identify which gender I should target the most.
A male target audience will be more interested in a scenes of violence and woman in comparison to a female who is more likely to be attracted towards happy story.
Certain shots in a trailer will attract different genders of the audience, shots which attract males are most likely to be full of action and less narrative, or perhaps a comic scene from within the film, where as a female will be more attracted to seeing a touching story being told from within the film.
The social class which viewed the film the most was C1 this is the social group which I feel that I belong to, this makes it easier when producing my trailer as I can aim it towards people similar to me.
The age bracket 15-24 was the age range which were attracted to the film the most, this is the age bracket which I fit into and therefore I feel that I am aiming my film towards someone the same age as me, consequently it is easier.

The film industry is divided into five sectors:

Distribution - the process of selling this product to audiences, via the cinemas, retailers and rental firms, this can then lead to merchandise being released due to popularity.

Exhibition - the cinemas which screen the film for the general public, their is also a premier where the film is screened for the first time to memebers of the public, a lot of people are aware of these events and therefore they prove to be popular amongst the gemeral public.

Director - someone who controls resources and expenditures, they coordinate people and the resources.

Editor: a person responsible for the editorial aspects of publication; the person who determines the final content of a text
